As Slow Works established their design studio, I served as filmmaker and stills photographer for a short film series and product photography for their entire clothing line and artwork. Behind Slow Works design studio is fashion designer Benthe Boesen and and graphic designer and my childhood friend Troels Schwarz. They design fewer things that last longer, believing in slowing down to sense and understand our surroundings better. We live in a culture of acceleration with a constant race to reach infinite goals on a never ending list of things to do faster. Slow Works take their time creating simple designs in collaboration with local producers and craftsmen. The design studio quilt, stitch, print and hand dye most fabrics used, in their studio or in their own back yard. This gives each design a unique look, color and finish. Without compromising ideals, Slow Works put in whatever time it takes.
