SKAGERRAK

Documentary 2019

SKAGERRAK follows the preparation and mental development of the professional stand up paddle athlete Casper Steinfath, in his attempt to be the first person in the world to paddle from Denmark to Norway. In the winter of 2017, Casper made his first attempt to cross Skagerrak - the ocean between the two countries. But with only 12 km to shore his his legs collapsed and the dream fell apart. A year later, Casper tried to cross Skagerrak once again. The film is a portrait of Casper in the year between the two attempts revealing that there’s more to it than getting from A to B. It’s a journey where brotherhood and friendship come to play an essential role making a dream and project like the crossing come true. SKAGERRAK is an inspirational story that touches upon the dreams, aspirations, and desires that live inside all of us. A film about the courage to reach for the horizon.
